REGULAR, SPECIAL AND
COMPLETE LIST OF SEVAS
Several Sevas are undertaken as per the Vaishnava Sampradhaya (vaikanasa
agamam). The core content of these sevas is ensuring no deviation from
age-old dictates and also to encourage actions that would enhance the
sanctity and spiritual aura of the temple.
The Temple opens as the clock strikes five in the morning. The cow and calf
are brought before the Lord for the Ghopooja and immediately there after
fresh milk is offered to the Lord as Neivaidyam. It is indeed a very
pleasing sight to behold at that hour in the morning. Immediately thereafter
preparations are made for the ritual bath for the Lord and sequentially
thereafter several Sevas are held in His honor.
For our Lord Anjaneya, every day, between 5.00 a.m. and 9.00 p.m. Poojas are
held six times (shad kaala poojas) with offering of Neivaidyam, as
prescribed in the scriptures. Only very few temples practice this scriptural
dictate.
Every day, six priests chant Hari-Vayu Sthuthi in praise of Lord Anjaneya
between 8.00 a.m. and 12.00 noon.
In the evenings between 6.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. at the Krishna Sannidhi,
Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana is chanted by six priests.
On special days, additional Homams and Japams are also performed extensively
to increase the spiritual power and sanctity of the Temple.
