ANNADHANAM

annadah pranado loke pranadah sarvado bhavet |
tasmadannam visesena datavyam bhutimicchata ||

The giver of the food is the giver of life, and indeed of everything else. Therefore, one who is desirous of well-being in this world and beyond should specially endeavour to give food.

The speed of life and changes; modern comfort and compulsions: we tend to get carried away by these factors. Yet inside everyone of us – the genetic imprint of our culture remains unaltered.

One such thought that is dominant is, to honour the Atithi. As an obligation. As a purgatory ritual to propitiate the Gods.

For many of us, to wait for an Atithi to partake of the meal, as enshrined in our scriptures, is not feasible. This results in sin as per our sastras.

Sri Phavaman Annadhanam Trust has schemes designed for you to fulfil this obligation.

The temple town of Nanganallur has shrines for all deities of the Hindu pantheon. The consecration of the Viswaroopa Anjaneya idol –the biggest in the world, has made Nanganallur the focal point for pilgrims from all over the country.

Essentially a residential town – Nanganallur has no facilities for boarding and lodging of pilgrims.

To the most devout, who only eat food cooked by themselves after bath and pooja, facilities to do so are absent. And pilgrims are put to hardship.

Sri Phavaman Annadhanam Trust takes a cue from the Dharmasala and Subrahmanya pilgrim centres in Karnataka to provide food for the pilgrims who arrive in large numbers.

Also to provide food to the needy – the old and the infirm, for there lies His feet and face.

Flexible schemes to suit you:

Scheme I

Devotees to contribute Rs. 150,000/- or US$ 3000 as to Sri Phavaman Annadhanam Trust, the income therefrom to part-fund the cost of a grand feast on special festival days.
